Seeing spots

My friend Penny told me the other day I haven't posted for awhile. Yes I know this & have to say it is because this has been the busiest summer ever. It seems we have had places to go & people to see. Things like concerts, family reunions, wedding to attend, quilt retreats. Yes it has been a busy time, but so much fun.

Now I have had a few weeks in between trips, to be in my sewing room. Which is always a good thing because Bernie, my sewing machine, does miss me when I'm gone. Corny I know, but yes my sewing machines have names.

I finished this darling dog for my friend Michells, birthday. You guess it, she owns dalmatians.
I just love Maggie Walkers patterns, they are so life like. I made her chickens, not sure if I've shown a photo yet, it needs quilting. later for that.
Anywhoo, I enjoyed making this & do hope she likes it.

Now to share exciting new, This is my "Over the River" quilt finished! I posted photos a while back after I competed piecing it, but I must show you the wonderful quilting my new friend Mary Flynn from Quilt Hollow did. (I wish I know how to make her name linkable for you, but, sorry to say, I do not. I will learn one of these days.)

I must say getting a good photo to show her wonderful work is difficult for an amateur like me.
I love this design she did on the flying geese border. Then see the snowflakes? Isn't that wonderful?
Look how the snow scene just comes to life. I just love this quilt, thank you again Mary for quilting this for me. Also a big thank you to Meg from Crabbapple Hill who designed this pattern.

Thank for stopping by for a visit.
Hugs,
Rebecca

  9. Your Dalmation quilt is wonderful. So creative. I was looking at a jigsaw puzzle yesterday that was all Dalmations and a two-sided puzzle with the same on the other side. Said it was the world's most difficult puzzle. I left it at the store!

Your Over the Woods piece turned out well. I have been wanting to make that quilt but hesitated at doing it in black. Your quilt shows that it could work well.

  12. Wonderful job, Rebecca! Love everything you sew. You are one talented lady. I might have to go check out Mary's site. I have this quilt all pieced and sitting on my dining room table, and I just *hate* quilting. Probably b/c I'm not good at it. The piecing I do well at, just not the quilting.
I'll have to post a picture of what it looks like right now.
